Bhatias Electronics

Bardoli is where we have always been. Bhatias Electronics is a name people here recognize, mostly because we’ve been in the same spot for years. The shop is full of boxes of all sizes. We have fridges standing in the middle of the floor and smaller things like irons and kettles on the side shelves. It’s always a bit of a maze trying to walk to the back of the store without bumping into a washing machine. The walls are painted a dull white and there are some old posters that have started to peel at the corners. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to lug the heavy stuff around. The delivery truck usually blocks the narrow street for a few minutes every morning, and the neighbors sometimes complain about the noise. We mostly just drink tea and talk to whoever walks in. It’s not like those big malls where nobody talks to you. Here, we remember what you bought last time. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a bit, waiting for the generator to kick in. It’s just part of life in Bardoli. We keep the doors wide open even when it’s dusty outside because that’s the only way to get some fresh air inside the shop. We just handle things as they come.
