Our place, Belcon Textiles Llp, is located at Krishna Industrial Estate in the Varachha area of Surat. If you know Kapodra Char Rasta, you know how hectic the traffic can get around there. We are situated at 165 North-166, which is basically where all the action happens for us. Being in an industrial estate means there is always the sound of machinery and trucks idling nearby. It is a very practical setup. We have rolls of textiles stacked up against the walls and a few desks where we handle the billing and phone calls. The air is always a bit heavy with the scent of cloth and machine oil. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high because the heat in Surat can be brutal in a warehouse setting. Our staff has been with us for a while, and we all just kind of know what needs to be done without talking about it too much. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find expensive furniture or modern art. We just have what we need to get the textiles sorted and sent out to whoever needs them. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit during lunch just to get some air, even if it is a bit noisy with all the industrial activity around us. It’s a straightforward business and we just keep at it.
