Baba Electronics

Operating out of Surat, Baba Electronics is where I spend most of my waking hours. It is a small shop filled with old televisions, remotes, and all sorts of wires. People bring in their electronics when they stop working, hoping we can bring them back to life. Sometimes it is just a simple blown fuse, and other times the whole board is fried and needs careful work. I’ve been doing this for a long time, so my hands are used to the smell of solder and the heat from the iron. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it has everything we need to get the job done. Customers come in and out all day, mostly locals who don't want to buy something new if they can fix the old one. We have piles of parts in the back that we use for spares. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but the small ceiling fan helps a bit. Surat is a busy city, and there is always something going on outside our door. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. People just know us because we have been here on this street for years. I usually stay late if there is a lot of work to finish. It’s just honest, everyday work, fixing things so people can go back to their routines at home with their gadgets.
