You can find us at Avlon Syntex on the second floor of Vishwakarma Chambers. It’s right there on the Majura Gate Ring Road. Being in Surat, we are right in the middle of all the textile action. We handle synthetic fabrics and threads. The office is always full of sample books and rolls of cloth. It gets pretty hot in the summer, even with the fans going. We have been here for years. The building is a bit old now, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone with mills and traders. It’s a fast-paced environment but we try to keep it calm. There’s always someone coming in to check a color or a texture. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People just know us from the trade. My desk is usually covered in folders and loose threads. We deal with a lot of different orders, some big, some small. The Ring Road is always jammed with traffic, so we usually get here early to beat the rush. We are just a group of people trying to keep the business moving. It’s steady work. We don’t do anything fancy, just syntex products for the local market and beyond. Sometimes the elevator in Vishwakarma Chambers acts up, so we take the stairs. It keeps us fit, I guess. We enjoy the work and the people we meet every day in the market.
