Out on Ring Road PH 2, in the industrial area, the atmosphere is quite different from the city shops. Our place is located at 358640, surrounded by other factories and large warehouses. There is always the sound of heavy trucks moving goods back and forth. Inside our building, it feels very practical. We have concrete floors and high ceilings. The office area is simple, with metal desks and some old filing cabinets. We deal with performance chemicals, so you often see drums and containers moved around by the workers. It gets very hot in Gujarat, especially in an industrial zone like this. The overhead fans do their best, but the air stays thick. We spend our time checking orders and looking at technical sheets. There isn't any decoration on the walls, just some calendars and safety notices. People who work here wear sturdy shoes because of the environment. In the afternoon, the sun beats down on the corrugated roof. We take our lunch breaks together in a small side room. The water cooler is the most popular spot in the building. It’s a place of hard work and very little talk that isn't about the job. We see the same delivery drivers every week. The dust from the industrial road covers the windows, so we don't see much of the outside world during the day. It is just a standard industrial operation.
