If you go to the GIDC No. 4 Industrial Estate in Fulpada, you will find us on the third floor of Plot 505. We are right opposite the Gajera Vidhyalaya in the Katargam area of Surat. Akshar Embro Exim is where we handle a lot of embroidery work and some export stuff too. Being on the third floor means we have to haul things up and down, but we have a routine for it. Katargam is always crowded with people and vehicles, so it can be a bit of a struggle to get here during peak hours. Inside the unit, it’s mostly the sound of the machines and people talking over the noise. We do a lot of checking for loose threads and making sure the designs look okay on the fabric. It is not always perfect, but we try our best to get the orders finished on time. We have a small team here and most of us have lived in Surat our whole lives. We don't really do the whole corporate thing. It’s just an industrial unit where we focus on the embroidery. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is due for export. It’s just how the business works here. We keep our coffee mugs on the desks and just get through the day's tasks one by one. There isn't much to say other than we work hard and hope for the best with each shipment we send out of the city.
