Venus College

Venus College is right here in Sundargarh, 770001. It’s a local spot where young people from the area come after they finish high school. We have a few different classrooms and a place where students can sit during their free time. It’s not a massive campus like you see in big cities, but it works for us. Most of the people working here are from around this part of Odisha, so everyone kind of knows each other. We offer various courses, and the students spend a lot of time with their books or talking in the hallways. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just carry on with the lectures anyway. There is a small office where we handle the paperwork and admissions. It’s usually busy in the mornings when the first classes start. We try to keep the grounds tidy, though the trees drop leaves everywhere in the autumn. It’s a pretty straightforward place. No one is putting on an act here. The goal is just to help the students get their degrees so they can find work or move on to something else later. You can hear the sounds of the town nearby while you’re in class. We’ve seen many groups of students come and go over the years. It’s just part of the landscape in Sundargarh now. We keep the doors open and stick to the timetable every day.
