You’ll find The Meating Point over in Rawalpora, specifically near the Govt Boys Higher Secondary School in Sanat Nagar. In this part of Srinagar, everyone knows everyone, so we mostly see the same faces every day. We started this place because we wanted a straightforward spot where people could get a decent meal without any fuss. The name is a bit of a play on words, but the idea is simple. We deal with a lot of meat dishes, as you might guess. The winters here are long and tough, so we spend a lot of time keeping the place warm for the customers. It’s not a big fancy hall with gold trim; it’s just a room with tables where the food is the main thing. The staff are all local guys from around the neighborhood. We don’t follow some corporate manual. If someone wants their food a certain way, we just do it. The school nearby means we get a lot of noise in the afternoons when the kids head home, which gives the place some life. We’ve had some days where the snow makes it hard for people to get here, but we stay open as much as possible. It’s just a regular business trying to do things right in Sanat Nagar. If you’re passing through Rawalpora and see the school, we’re right there near the corner. It is a quiet neighborhood most of the time.
