Alkareem Foods

Alkareem Foods is right in the middle of Malaratta, in the Mir Mohalla area. We are very close to the historical Jamia Masjid. This is an old part of Srinagar, and the streets are narrow and full of history. We’ve been here for years, making food for the people in the neighborhood. It’s a small place, nothing flashy at all. Most of our customers are the folks who live right here or people coming from the mosque. We focus on traditional flavors because that’s what people expect around here. The kitchen is always busy, especially in the mornings and evenings. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. We just rely on the food we make every day. You can hear the sounds of the market and the calls from the mosque from our doorstep. It feels very connected to the city. We prepare things simply, using what we can find in the local shops. It’s a bit crowded sometimes, and the space is tight, but that’s just how things are in Malaratta. We like being part of this community. If you’re visiting the Jamia Masjid, you can find us just a short walk away. We’re just regular people making food for our neighbors. There is always a pot of something cooking on the stove. It is noisy and busy, but it is home.
