Silicon Valley Computer

If you walk past the DC office in Anantnag, you will see the Taj Building right across the street. That is where we are. Silicon Valley Computer is basically just a room filled with parts and old monitors. It gets quite cold here in the winter, so we usually have a small heater tucked under the desk while we work on motherboards. I spend a lot of time squinting at small screws and trying to figure out why a laptop won’t turn on. People come in with all sorts of problems, like spilled tea on keyboards or cracked screens from dropping their bags. The shop isn't very large. We have shelves stacked with boxes and cables hanging from hooks on the wall. It’s not organized like a showroom you’d see in a big city, but we know where everything is. Usually, there is a bit of dust on the window because of the road outside, but we clean it when we can. Sometimes the internet is slow and we just sit and wait for things to download while chatting about the weather. It is a simple life here. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know our way around a circuit board. We stay open until the sun goes down and then we lock up the Taj Building and head home. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough throughout the week. It's just a regular local shop.
