Kashmiri Rugs

Kashmiri Rugs is located at C/O Narchoor Textiles, in the Narchoor Manzil building at Janglat Mandi. It is an old building with a lot of character, and you can really feel the history when you walk inside. The air usually smells like wool and a bit of dust, which I have grown to like over the years. We have stacks of rugs everywhere, some rolled up tight and others spread out on the floor so we can check the patterns. It is not a modern showroom with bright lights and mirrors. Instead, we have these tall windows that let in the natural light, which is much better for seeing the true colors of the threads anyway. We spend a lot of time just talking to people who stop by, showing them the different weaves and explaining how long each piece took to finish. There is no high-pressure sales stuff going on here. We just sit on the floor sometimes and talk about the designs. Janglat Mandi is a very lively area, and there is always something going on right outside our door. Sometimes the noise from the market gets a bit much, but it is part of the charm of being here. We have been part of Narchoor Textiles for a long time, and it feels like a big family. We don't have a website that works very well, and we still write most of our receipts by hand in a big ledger.
