Faiz-Ul-Aloom Public High School is right near Airport Road in Hamhama. If you are around here, you can’t miss the sound of the planes taking off and landing at the Budgam airport. It becomes a background noise we don't even notice after a few days. Our school is a busy spot, especially in the mornings when the road gets packed with cars and buses. We are a local school for the families living around this part of Budgam, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for quite a while. The classrooms are basic but they do the job. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the daily chores, like cleaning the blackboards and making sure the water tanks are full. It isn’t a fancy institution with a lot of money to throw around. We just try to keep the place tidy and the students focused on their books. The office is usually a bit messy with stacks of papers and registers, but we know where everything is. We don't go in for big speeches or polished presentations. We just open the gates every morning, teach the lessons, and make sure everyone gets home safe. Life around the airport can be a bit loud and fast-paced, but inside our walls, we try to keep things steady and predictable for the kids who come here every day.
