Face Studies

Started this place in Maharaja Bazar a few years ago. It’s a busy spot in Srinagar, right in the thick of things with all the shops nearby. We just wanted a space where people could come and learn stuff without it being too complicated or formal. The rooms aren’t exactly huge, but they do the job for what we need. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or use a small backup light to keep going. We mostly deal with students coming in for their studies, and people drop by after they finish their shopping in the market. It’s pretty noisy outside with all the vendors and traffic, but once you’re inside, it’s mostly okay and quiet enough to focus. My cousin helped me paint the walls last summer. We chose a plain color because it’s easier to look at all day. We don't have a big front desk or anything, just a simple table where I sit and talk to whoever walks in. If you walk down the lane from the main road, you'll see our sign hanging there. It’s a bit old now, but people still find us well enough. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people telling their friends about the place. It’s a simple setup. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the papers and books pile up on the shelves. That’s just how it goes here during the busy season.
