Sundara Durga Granites

Our yard is located out at Aludu Village, right near the NH 5 in Saravakota Mandal. Being so close to the highway means there is always a bit of traffic noise, but it makes it easy for the big trucks to pull in and out without getting stuck. We deal with heavy granite slabs all day long. It’s heavy work and the sun really beats down on the stone, making it hot to the touch by midday. We have our little spot at Pl.No.7-128/A where we keep everything stacked up. Some days it is just about moving pieces around so we can find what a customer is looking for. We don’t have a big fancy office, just a desk and some chairs where we sit when the paperwork needs doing. Most of the time we are outside. The stone has a lot of dust on it when it first arrives, so we spend a lot of time washing things down just to see the colors clearly. It is a quiet village otherwise, except for when we are running the cutters. We’ve got a routine that works for us. Sometimes people stop by because they saw us from the road while driving toward the post office. We just show them what we have in the yard and tell them how much it is. It's a simple way to run things. The trucks keep coming and we keep loading them up. The main road is always there in the background, which is just part of our day.
