If you ever find yourself walking around the Marble Market in Sector 20 Dwarka, you will find us on the first floor at Plot 62. It is a loud area with all the stone being moved around on trucks, but that is just the way it is here in South West Delhi. Marks Sales is not a huge operation with hundreds of people. We mostly deal with the day-to-day side of the stone trade. My desk is usually covered in papers and various stone samples. Being in the marble market means you get to know everyone nearby, from the loaders to the other shop owners. We spend our mornings checking on stock and talking to people who come in looking for materials for their homes. It is not always glamorous work, especially with all the dust from the surrounding shops, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We try to keep things moving and make sure the deliveries happen when they are supposed to. Sometimes the phone does not stop ringing and other times it is quiet enough to actually sit and have a tea. We do not use any fancy sales tactics or anything like that. People just come in, see what we have in the yard, and we talk about the price. It is a basic business. We have been at this location for a while and most of our neighbors know our faces.
