American Express has this local spot over in Nasir Pur, near Dwarka. The address is 151, Pocket 6, Site 3, in the SFS DDA Flats. It is a bit of a walk from the main Dwarka roads, tucked away in the residential blocks. Working out of a DDA flat is quite common in this part of New Delhi. We have our computers set up in the main rooms and we spend the day dealing with customer accounts and financial bits. It’s not the big glass tower you might see in advertisements. It’s a real, local office where the fans hum all day and we drink a lot of tea to stay focused. We have a lot of files and some old furniture that’s been here since we opened this branch. It can be a bit noisy when the kids are playing outside in the pocket park, but we don’t mind much. It’s a community feeling. We handle people’s questions and sort out their card issues from these desks. It’s a very practical environment. There’s no big cafeteria, just a small corner where we keep our tiffin boxes. Most of the people working here live nearby in Dwarka or Nasir Pur. We’ve been at this site for a good while. It’s just our regular daily spot where we do the banking work and try to keep everything in order without any extra polish.
