Vadem Nagar Higher Secondary School

Our school is located on Vaddem Merces Road, right here in Vasco Da Gama. It’s been a part of the local area for years. Most of the kids from around Vadem Nagar come here for their higher secondary years. The building is a bit older, with those typical Goan walls that stay cool even when it's hot outside. We have teachers who have been here for a long time, so they know most of the families in the neighborhood. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the bells go off and everyone heads to the playground. Classes cover different streams, mostly the usual subjects you’d expect in a high school. The walk up the road can be a bit dusty in the summer, but it’s a familiar route for everyone. A lot of time is spent on practical stuff and just making sure the students pass their boards. There’s always some repair work going on somewhere, maybe a leaky tap or a door that needs fixing. It’s a practical school, nothing like those private ones with huge fences. The gates stay open for most of the day. Parents drop by to talk about their kids’ progress or just to check on things. It’s a community spot as much as a school. We just keep going, year after year, watching another batch of kids grow up and leave. It’s simple, and it works for us. We just need to fix that one light in the hall.
