Shah Driving School

We run Shah Driving School from the ground floor of the Loyola Housing Co-Op Society. We are located on Ambaji Road in Fatorda, right in the heart of Goa. The office is small because we spend most of our time out on the roads anyway. You’ll usually see our cars parked nearby with the learner signs on top. Teaching people how to drive in Goa takes a lot of patience, especially when the tourist season starts and the roads get packed. Our desk is covered in license forms and maps of the local area. We’ve helped a lot of neighbors from the Loyola Housing complex get behind the wheel for the first time. The office has a couple of chairs for people waiting their turn and a very old calendar on the wall. It’s a family-run thing, so someone is almost always there, though they might be drinking tea or chatting with a student’s father. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just see our cars or hear about us from a friend. The keys are always hanging on a hook by the door. Some days the humidity makes the paperwork stick together, but we get through it. It’s just a basic service for the folks around Fatorda who want to learn to drive without a lot of stress. We make sure the cars are fueled up every evening before we head home.
