Hara Motor Driving School

We started Hara Motor Driving School here in Quepem some time back. It is mostly just helping folks around Goa learn how to handle a car without getting too nervous. Driving can be stressful when you first start. We take the cars out on the local roads and just go through the basics. It is not anything fancy. We just show people where the gears are and how to watch the mirrors properly. Some people pick it up fast, while others take a bit longer, but that is fine with us. We spend a lot of time sitting in traffic or going down the narrow lanes here. It gets really hot during the middle of the day so we try to pick good times for the lessons. Most of the people coming in are just neighbors or kids from the nearby area. We keep the cars maintained so they do not break down in the middle of a lesson. Dealing with the licensing paperwork is part of it too, which is always a bit of a headache but we get through it. It is a small operation. We do not have a big office or anything, just the address in Quepem. If you see us on the road, we are probably just practicing parallel parking or trying not to stall at the intersections. It is honest work and we have seen all kinds of drivers over the years. Some are really scared of the hills around here. We just take it slow.
