Vintage

Down on the ground floor of Building No 15 in Begampur Village, you’ll find our place. The sign says Vintage, and that’s exactly what the atmosphere feels like inside. Being in Malviya Nagar means we get a mix of people walking in, from students to long-time residents of the village. The floor is concrete and stays relatively cool even when the sun is hitting the building hard. We have a lot of items tucked away in different corners, and sometimes even we forget what is at the bottom of a stack. It’s a bit cramped if more than three people are inside at once, but that’s part of the charm of being in this old building. We spend our mornings dusting things off and rearranging the shelves to make space for whatever arrived the day before. There isn't a lot of natural light reaching the back of the shop, so we use a few old lamps to keep things visible. Begampur Village is a tight-knit spot, and we feel like we are part of the furniture now. We don't go for anything polished or modern. The door squeaks every time someone enters, which is how we know we have company. It is a quiet existence most of the time, just surrounded by old things and the smell of paper and wood. We like the pace of things here at building fifteen.
