Verdi Collection

At M-66 in G.K. 1, we run Verdi Collection. It’s a nice area, but our shop is pretty straightforward. We have racks of clothes that we spend all morning straightening out. The neighborhood is fancy, but we keep things simple inside. We don’t use those big bright lights you see in malls. We prefer the softer ones that don’t hurt your eyes. There are only a few of us working here. We take turns sweeping the floor and greeting people who walk in from the street. Sometimes we sit on the stools behind the counter and talk about the weekend while we wait for deliveries. We’ve been at this M-66 location for quite some time now. People in G.K. 1 know us as the quiet spot on the block. We don’t do a lot of shouting or big sales. We just put the items out and let people look. The back room is where we keep the extra stock and the kettle for our afternoon tea. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze back there. We try to keep the front looking decent, even if the rug is starting to show some wear. It feels like home to us because we spend more time here than anywhere else. We know which floorboards creak when you walk on them. It’s just a normal shop run by normal people.
