Vandna Confezioni

You can find Vandna Confezioni on the second floor of a building in Greater Kailash, Part-2. The address is E-319, and the stairs are a bit steep, so people usually take their time coming up. It’s mostly the sound of sewing machines here. We have rolls of fabric leaning against the walls and thread clippings on the floor that we have to sweep up every few hours. It’s a working space, so it isn't always neat. We have some large tables where we do all the cutting and measuring. It’s mostly just a few of us working away, sometimes with the radio playing in the background if the signal is good. GK2 is a busy area, but once you come up to the second floor, it feels a lot more secluded. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and making sure the needles are sharp. It gets quite warm in the afternoons because of the big windows, but we have a couple of fans that help. We’ve been at this for a while, and the neighbors know us. It’s not a fancy showroom with lights and mirrors everywhere. It’s a workshop where we actually get the work done. Sometimes a client comes in with a specific idea, and we just sit down on the old chairs and try to figure it out together. It’s a very hands-on kind of day for everyone here.
