Vaniya Leather

We’ve been at D-3 Main Thana Road in Sangam Vihar for quite a while now. Most days it is just a lot of work with leather. You can smell it the moment you walk through the door. It is a heavy scent that stays on your clothes long after you leave the shop. We have different kinds of hides stacked up in the corner. Some are soft for jackets and others are thick for belts or boots. People come in from around the neighborhood asking for specific things. We do our best to get the cuts right. Sometimes the tools get dull and we have to stop to sharpen them. It is not a fancy place by any means. There is dust on the shelves and the floor is usually covered in small scraps of brown and black leather. We have a few machines that make a lot of noise when they are running. Sangam Vihar is a busy area so there is always someone passing by the window. Usually it is just a few of us here working away. We don't really have a big staff or anything like that. Just a small shop where we handle leather items day in and day out. It gets hot in the summer because the ventilation isn't the greatest. Anyway we just keep going and get the orders done as they come. It is honest work and it keeps us busy enough.
