The Tras

The Tras is tucked away in Zakir Nagar, which is a very crowded and lively part of Okhla. Our address is House 658B, and we are up on the first floor. To get here, you have to find Street 12, which can be a bit of a maze if it is your first time in the area. There are always people walking around and bikes squeezing through the narrow lanes. It’s a typical Delhi neighborhood where everyone is close together. We have our cell phone number, 9711929211, listed because sometimes people get lost trying to find the house. It’s just easier to call us when you get to the main street. Working from the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the street life below. We spend most of our time here just getting through the daily list of things to do. It’s a small operation, just a few of us in a couple of rooms. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. People just walk up the stairs and knock. Zakir Nagar has a lot of good food nearby, so lunch is always the best part of the day. We’ve been in House 658B for a while now and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of Street 12. It’s loud, it’s busy, and it feels like a real community. We just do our work and keep things moving throughout the week, no matter how chaotic it gets outside.
