The Leather Avenue India

The Leather Avenue India is situated at B-195 in Okhla Phase-I. Okhla is a massive industrial area, so there is always the sound of machinery and trucks moving in the background. Our unit is in one of the older blocks. It’s got that typical industrial feel, with high ceilings and heavy metal doors that bang shut if you aren't careful. We’ve been here for a while now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change as more businesses move in and out. Inside our space, there is always the scent of leather and glue. We have long tables where we lay everything out to inspect it. The lighting is okay, but we often use desk lamps to see the smaller details. We aren’t a polished retail store; it’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. The guys working here have been with us for years, so we all know how the others work without having to say much. Lunch is usually eaten together at one of the tables, often bringing food from home. We don't bother with fancy signs or advertisements. People find us because they know where we are and they know what we do. It gets very hot in the summer months, but we just keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through the alley. It’s just a regular day-to-day business trying to keep up with the work and the heat.
