Sunder Watch Centre & Bartan Store

In Harkesh Nagar, we run Sunder Watch Centre & Bartan Store. It is a bit of an unusual mix, having watches on one side and kitchen utensils on the other, but it works for us. We have been here for a long time. People know they can come to us for a new pressure cooker or to get their wristband fixed. The shop is full of shiny metal pots and the ticking of many clocks. It’s a rhythmic sound that I’ve grown to love. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes I have to use the old wooden ladder to reach the big pots at the top. The street outside is always busy with people going to work. We open up the shutters early in the morning. The sunlight reflects off the stainless steel and makes the whole place bright. We don’t have a big staff, just family mostly. We handle the sales and the repairs ourselves. It’s a lot of talking to neighbors and making sure they get what they need. Some of the watches are very old and take a lot of patience to fix. We just sit at the small table in the back and work away. It’s a simple life here in Harkesh Nagar. We make sure the glass cases are wiped down every single afternoon to keep the dust off the dials.
