Style Stich

Our office is B-130 in Duggal Colony, over in the Khanpur Extension. It’s a residential-feeling area but there are a lot of small businesses like ours tucked away. We do a lot of stitching and garment work in this small space. It’s usually just a few of us here. The walls are lined with threads of all different colors. We have a couple of large tables for cutting and measuring. It’s not a corporate setup at all. There are piles of fabric in the corners and we often have the radio playing in the background. The neighbors are friendly, and we often see the same people walking past every day. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a delivery truck, and everyone has to wait. It’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We don’t have a website or anything like that. Most people just know we are here in the colony. The lighting is okay during the day because of the front window, but we have to use big lamps when it gets dark. We work pretty long hours when there’s a big order to finish. It’s just a simple stitching unit where we try to do a decent job with the machines we have. We try to keep things moving so we don't get a huge backlog. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work, but we are used to it and it keeps us occupied.
