Sir Ganga Ram Hospital

Old Rajendra Nagar has its own feel, much older and more settled than the newer parts of New Delhi. Our branch of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is right in the thick of it. The buildings are close together and the lanes can be narrow. You have to be careful driving around here. Most of us have worked here for years and we know the shortcuts to avoid the traffic. The atmosphere is usually a bit frantic during the day. There are always people waiting or walking between the different blocks. We try to keep things moving as best we can. It’s a lot of manual work, keeping records and making sure the rooms are ready. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are always too busy to get to it. You see people from all walks of life coming through. Some come from far away, others just live down the street. We stay focused on the tasks at hand. It’s a practical kind of place. No one is here to show off; we just do our jobs and go home. The summers get really hot in these old buildings, so the fans are always humming in the background. It’s just the way it goes here in Old Rajendra Nagar. We are just a regular part of the neighborhood, sitting here among the shops and houses. It’s not always easy, but we have a good group of people who make it work.
