Shivam Garments

We are based in Chanchad, Okhla Phase-1. If you know the industrial zones in Delhi, you know Okhla is always moving. Our building is one of many in the area, and it’s always filled with the sound of fans and machines. We focus on making clothes, so there are always piles of garments being folded or packed into plastic bags. The floors are concrete and we have big fans to keep the air moving, though it still gets pretty warm when everyone is working. We have long tables where the cutting happens and rows of machines where the stitching is done. It’s not a quiet place. There are always people shouting over the noise or trucks beeping outside. We spend our days checking the seams and making sure the sizes are right. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just us and the workers getting the orders out on time. Sometimes we stay late when there is a big shipment due. We grab food from the local vendors who come around at lunchtime. The neighborhood is full of other factories, so there is a lot of back and forth between us and the suppliers. It’s a lot of hard work, but we have a good rhythm going. We’ve been in Phase-1 for a while and have seen the area change quite a bit over the years.
