Shiv Clinic

You can find Shiv Clinic right near the Okhla Railway Station on Sahid Captain Gaur Main Road. We are tucked into Gandhi Basti in the Sriniwaspuri area. It’s a very crowded part of town, so there is always a lot of noise and movement. Between the trains and the cars on the main road, it never really gets quiet here. The clinic itself is quite small. We have to squeeze everything into a few rooms. I handle the front desk and the patient files, which are mostly just folders in a big metal cabinet. It’s a busy place, especially in the mornings when people are headed to work or in the evenings when they are coming home. We see a lot of the same people every week. It’s not a fancy private hospital with a big lobby. It’s just a neighborhood clinic. The walls are a bit stained from the damp, and the fan in the corner makes a clicking sound, but it works. We don’t have a big philosophy or anything. We just provide a place for people to get checked out without having to travel too far. It’s honest, local work. Most of our patients are our neighbors from the basti. We know who is struggling and who is doing okay. It’s a tight-knit community and we are just glad to be a small part of it.
