Shayona Dresses

Shayona Dresses is on the first floor of A-111 in Lajpat Nagar, Part-1. If you know Delhi, you know how Lajpat Nagar gets. It is always loud and there is always something happening on the street below us. Our shop is up the stairs, which keeps it a little quieter than the ground floor stalls, but not by much. We have stacks of dresses everywhere. Some days it feels like we are drowning in fabric. We spend hours measuring things or just checking for loose threads. The heat in Delhi can be tough, especially in the summer months, but we have our fans going at full speed. We have been in this spot for a while now. The building is older, but it works for what we need. We get a lot of people coming in looking for something specific for a wedding or a party. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just a lot of stock and some mirrors. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a quick break on the small stools. It is a simple operation. We buy the stock, we put it out, and we help people try things on. It’s a lot of physical work, moving heavy bundles of clothes up to the first floor. But that is just life in New Delhi. We are just a local business trying to keep things moving in a very busy market.
