Shankar Pan Bhandar

We are over at South Extension Part II, specifically at D 15. Shankar Pan Bhandar is the name on our small shop front. It is a busy part of town with a lot of shops and people moving around. Our space is just a tiny slice of the building. We have been working out of this spot for a long time. It’s mostly just me behind the counter. I have a small stool I sit on when there are no customers, but that doesn't happen often. The mornings are for setting up and getting the leaves cleaned and ready. By the afternoon, the crowd starts to pick up. We get people who work in the big showrooms nearby and also people just visiting the area for shopping. It is a very mixed crowd. The lights from the bigger stores make our street bright at night. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just the essentials for the business. Sometimes a stray dog will sit near the entrance and wait for a bit of shade. We don't mind. Life at D 15 is fast, but we have our own pace inside the shop. We keep track of everything in a small notebook. It isn't a fancy operation, just a local business that has been part of the landscape for years. We do our work and go home. Usually, the day ends around eleven and we walk back to the station.
