About As A Kitchen Trainee In F & B Production Dept. – Food & Beverages in South Delhi
I am currently working at Q-3, Sri Niwas Puri Extension in New Delhi-110065. My role is as a kitchen trainee in the F & B production department here. It is a pretty intense environment to be in every day. The kitchen is always hot and there is a lot of shouting when the orders start coming in fast. I spend a lot of my time doing the basic stuff like peeling bags of onions or chopping vegetables until my hands are sore. It isn't like what you see on TV shows about cooking. It is a lot of hard work and cleaning up after yourself. Being in Sri Niwas Puri Extension, we are right in the middle of a busy neighborhood. The kitchen itself is a bit small, and we are always bumping into each other when it gets busy. I am still learning how everything works, so I make a few mistakes now and then. The head chefs are usually quite busy, so you have to watch closely to pick up the skills. We don't have the newest equipment, but we make some really good food with what we have. It’s a lot of standing for eight or ten hours at a time. By the time I head home, I usually smell like onions and spices. It’s a tough job but I’m glad to be learning the trade here in this kitchen.
