Santosh Pan Bhandar

Our little shop, Santosh Pan Bhandar, is tucked away in Jangpura, specifically at Lajpat Nagar C 28. It’s been sitting on this same street for years, watching the neighborhood change around us. When we first started, there were fewer cars and more space, but now it’s always crowded and noisy. We open up early to get everything ready before the heat sets in. Most of the day is spent sitting on the wooden stool, waiting for the regulars to stop by for a chat. My hands are usually stained from the ingredients, but that’s just how it goes in this business. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Delhi, just a reliable one for the folks living nearby. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to wait around, which can be frustrating. The shop itself is quite small, so things get a bit cramped when three or four people stand inside at once. We’ve got some old pictures on the wall that have faded over time. It’s not a shiny corporate office, just a brick-and-mortar spot where we do our daily work. I usually close up late when the street lights are already on and the traffic has died down a little. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If you need us, you just come to C 28.
