Saifi Steel Art

Our shop is tucked away near Moti Masjid in Jamia Nagar, at number thirty-one. It’s a lively neighborhood, always something going on outside the door. Saifi Steel Art is a small operation, mostly just a couple of us working with metal every day. We don’t have a polished showroom. It’s more of a workshop where you can see the tools and the materials piled up. The sparks fly and the grinders make a lot of noise, but the neighbors don’t seem to mind too much since we’ve been here so long. We do a lot of custom work, or at least we try to. People bring in sketches or just tell us what they want, and we see what we can do. It's not always perfect, but we put the time in. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of rod or sheet and have to wait for the supplier, which is frustrating, but that’s how it goes. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just work with steel. It’s a trade we learned and we keep doing it because it’s what we know. If you’re walking past the masjid, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. We keep the shop open late most nights because there is always something left to finish. It is just the way we have always done things here in Jamia Nagar. We don't have much of a sign.
