Safdarjang Hospital & V.M.M.C is tucked into Ansari Nagar. It’s a big name for a place that feels like a small city once you get inside. We have students running around with their books and white coats, looking a bit stressed about their next exam. Then there are the rest of us who have been working here for years. The building has lots of different wings and it can be a real puzzle to find your way around. We mostly just know our own little corners. In Ansari Nagar, things move fast. The air is always filled with the sound of people talking and the occasional siren. Our offices are full of folders and old computer monitors that sometimes flicker. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when the afternoon slump hits. It’s not the kind of place you see in movies. It’s real. There are scuff marks on the floors and the windows could use a good wash, but the work gets done. We handle a huge number of people. Every day brings something different, which keeps us on our toes. We don’t have time for fancy talk or marketing. We just focus on the patients and the students. It’s a long day usually, and by the time we leave, the sun is often going down. We just lock up, check the lights, and do it all again the next morning. It’s just how things go at Safdarjang and the college. Everyone knows us here.
