S G Engineering Works

S G Engineering Works is situated on GT Road, right near the New Bus Stand. Being so close to the bus stand means there is always a lot of noise and dust, but it also makes us easy to find. Our workshop is a place filled with the smell of metal and machine oil. We have various tools and machines scattered around the floor. It’s not the cleanest place, but that’s because we are always working on something mechanical. Most of our day is spent fixing parts or fabricating things for local clients. We’ve got some old machinery that still works great and some newer stuff too. The sound of grinding and hammering is pretty constant from morning until evening. We don’t have an office with air conditioning; we just open the big doors to let the air in from GT Road. It gets pretty hot during the day, so we drink a lot of water and take breaks when we can. People come by with broken equipment or sketches of what they need built. We sit down on some old stools and figure it out together. It’s practical work that requires greasy hands and a bit of patience. We’ve been at this spot for years and the locals know where to find us. It’s just a plain engineering shop where we do our best with the tools we have.
