About Reema Khurana – Fashion & Trends in South Delhi
I have been working out of my place here at 570 Greater Kailash II for a good while now. It isn't a big shop with a window display, more of a quiet workspace where I keep all my fabrics and rolls of thread. Most people who come to see me are looking for something specific that they just can't find at the big stores or malls. I spend a lot of my time sitting at the big wooden table sketching out ideas or measuring cloth. It gets pretty cluttered with scraps of silk and cotton all over the floor by the end of the day, but I try to clear it up every now and then. I started doing this because I liked the way different materials felt and how you could make something nice out of just a few yards of cloth. It is just me and a couple of helpers who handle the heavy sewing parts. Sometimes we have to stay up late to finish a dress if someone needs it for a wedding the next morning. I don't really do much advertising, people just hear about me from their friends in the neighborhood. It is nice living and working in the same house, though sometimes it feels like I never really get away from the work. People just call me up or drop by to see what I am currently making. It is a quiet life, mostly just focusing on the stitches and making things look right.
