About R L Engineering Work – Engineering in South Delhi
We are tucked away in DSIDC Shed 209 over in Okhla Industrial Estate Phase I. It’s the kind of place where you’ll always find grease on someone’s hands and a lot of metal scraps on the floor. We do a lot of different engineering tasks, mostly fixing parts or making small components that people need for their own machines. The shed is sturdy, but it definitely feels like a workshop. It’s crowded with tools, lathes, and bits of iron. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here. Most of our day is spent measuring things, cutting metal, or welding. The air usually smells like oil and burnt metal, which is how we like it. We know the other folks in the industrial estate, and we often help each other out when someone is missing a tool or needs a quick favor. It gets pretty loud when all the machines are running at once, so you have to yell a bit to be heard. We keep things simple and just focus on the job that’s right in front of us. It’s not always pretty, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the work gets done. We've been in this shed for a while now and we know exactly where every single wrench and bolt is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else.
