Priyanka Exports Inc.

Our place is in Kalkaji, right in one of those A-14 double-storey buildings. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, especially when a big shipment of exports is ready to go out. We’ve been operating Priyanka Exports Inc. from here for years. The neighborhood is loud, and there’s always someone shouting or a scooter zooming by outside. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of tape dispensers and people checking lists. We deal with all sorts of things that go overseas. It’s not glamorous work. You’ll usually find us surrounded by cardboard boxes and bubble wrap. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows and keep working by the sunlight coming through the front. We started out small and stayed that way because we like knowing exactly what’s happening in every corner of the shop. There isn't much room for a fancy lounge or anything, so we just have a few chairs for visitors. Most of our day is spent making sure the quality is okay before things get packed up. It's a lot of manual checking and double-checking. We’ve stayed in Kalkaji because it feels like home, even with the narrow stairs and the constant hustle. It’s an honest way to earn a living, making sure the goods leave the country exactly how they are supposed to be.
