We’re located on the top floor of O 17 in Sriniwaspuri, New Delhi. Being on the top floor means we get a lot of stairs to climb every single morning, which is a bit of a workout before the day even starts. The view from up here isn't much, just the rooftops of the neighborhood and some tangled power lines, but it’s our little corner of the city. Sriniwaspuri is an older area, so the building has its quirks, like the occasional leaky pipe or a door that sticks when it’s humid out. We do a lot of coordination work here, mostly over the phone or through emails, dealing with global trade stuff. The office is usually humming with the sound of computers and the occasional argument about where to order lunch from. It gets incredibly hot in the summer months since there’s nothing above us but the roof, so we rely heavily on the air conditioning to keep things moving. We’ve got files everywhere, and the desks are usually buried under samples of fabric or shipping documents. It’s not a sterile, clean office like you see in movies; it’s a working space where things actually happen. We’ve been in this building for quite some time, and despite the stairs and the heat, we’ve grown quite fond of the community around O 17. Most of the folks in the building know us by now and say hello in the hall.
