Our place is the Niramaya Hospital Unit Delhi Health Care Research, and you can find us at D. D. No. 23 in Kalkaji. We are actually right opposite the M. C. D. Hospital, which is a huge landmark that everyone in the area knows. Being in Kalkaji means it is always busy outside, with people moving around and cars honking all the time. Our building isn't as massive as the one across the street, but we have enough space for what we do here. The research part of our name sounds a bit formal, but day-to-day it is just us working through files and seeing people who need help. The rooms are a bit older, and the paint might be peeling in a couple of corners, but we keep it clean. Dealing with the Delhi heat in the summer is always a struggle, even with the fans going full blast. Most of our day is spent talking to families and trying to keep the schedule from falling apart when things get crowded. It is a bit of a maze sometimes with all the different units we have, but we manage. Being across from the big municipal hospital means we see a lot of the overflow or people looking for a different pace. It’s a practical sort of place, nothing fancy or polished. We just open up in the morning, do the work, and hope the traffic isn't too bad when it's time to head home.
