New Era India

Our place is in B 306, Chittaranjan Park. Most people just call it CR Park. It’s a nice area in New Delhi, though the address says Haryana 110019 which is a bit of a mix-up with the postal codes sometimes. We are on the third floor. The building is one of those typical residential-style blocks that has been turned into offices. It’s quiet compared to the main roads. You can see trees from the windows, which is nice when you need a break from looking at the screen. New Era India is basically just a few of us in a couple of rooms. We have a small kitchen where we make way too much coffee. The elevator is a bit temperamental, so most of us just take the stairs. It keeps us moving, I guess. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try to keep the noise down. Sometimes the smell of fried fish from the nearby markets drifts in, and that’s when we know it’s almost evening. We don’t have a big sign outside, just a small nameplate near the bell. It’s a comfortable enough spot to work. We’ve thought about moving to a bigger place in Gurgaon, but we like it here in South Delhi too much. It’s got a certain character that those glass buildings don’t have. We just do our work and go home.
