Our office is tucked away in the B 63 block of the DDA Flats in Kalkaji. It’s a busy part of New Delhi, and finding a parking spot in the morning is always a bit of a struggle. We’ve been here for some time, and the neighbors in the other flats know us by now. The space is a bit cramped because we have a lot of files and desks squeezed in, but it feels lived-in. We spend most of our day on the phones or typing away. In the winter, it gets quite cold in these old buildings, so we all wear our heavy sweaters. Summer is the opposite, and we rely heavily on the window units to keep things bearable. There is a small market nearby where we get our lunch most days. Sometimes we bring food from home and share it around the big table in the back. It’s not a corporate glass tower or anything like that. It is just a regular place where we come to work and earn a living. We have some plants on the balcony, though they struggle a bit with the Delhi dust. The internet can be spotty when it rains, so those are the days we catch up on the physical filing. It is a straightforward operation without any big frills or fancy lobby areas to show off.
