National Bartan Bhandar

We have been sitting here in Lajpat Nagar Central Market for a good number of years now. If you know this market, you know it gets really packed, especially on weekends when everyone is out shopping for their homes. At National Bartan Bhandar, our day mostly starts with dusting off the stainless steel racks and stacking up the pressure cookers and kadhais. It is a lot of metal and it can get quite noisy when things move around. We have all sorts of kitchen stuff piled up, from small spoons to those big heavy pots people use for large family dinners. The shop isn’t fancy at all. It is just a place filled with utensils from floor to ceiling. Sometimes the heat in the market is a bit much, but we keep the fans going. People come in looking for a specific lid or a replacement handle for an old pan they’ve had for twenty years. We try to find it in the back or somewhere on the shelves. It is mostly just us working here, making sure the inventory is okay and talking to the regulars who live around the corner. Life in Central Market is fast, but inside here, it is just about pots and pans. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. People just see the sign when they walk past the stalls. It is a simple setup we have here at our spot in Lajpat Nagar.
