Ministry Of Food Processing Industries

We sit here at Panchsheel Bhawan on August Krant Marg. The office is busy most days. We deal with the food processing sector across the country. There is a lot of paperwork usually, as you might expect from a government place. People come in and out for various approvals or to ask about schemes. The building is an old one but it stays cool enough. We try to keep things moving along for the farmers and the factory owners who need us. It is a big job because food is everywhere. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing. Lunch breaks are short. We see a lot of files every single day. Some are about big projects, others are small local setups. It is mostly about getting the raw stuff from the fields into packages or bottles. We have many departments under this one roof. The stairs are a bit steep. Most of us have been working here for years. You get used to the rhythm of the place after a while. It’s just the daily grind of making sure the food industry has what it needs from the government side. We don't do much fancy talk here. Just work. There is a small canteen downstairs where we get tea. The security at the gate knows us by name. It is a stable place to be. We handle the rules and the regulations that keep the industry going. It is not always exciting, but it matters to the people we serve.
