Middle East Metal And Wood Industry Metalco is based out of Khirki Extension in Malviya Nagar. If you’ve ever walked through the lanes of New Delhi, you know how packed it gets. We are at J 3/37 B-2, and Mr. S.M. Adnan is usually around. We work with both metal and wood, which keeps things interesting because the tools are totally different. One side of the shop smells like sawdust and the other smells like welding sparks. It’s a bit of a mess most of the time, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a big showroom. People usually just come to the workshop to see what we are making. It’s a lot of hard work and the space is a bit tight for the bigger pieces. We’ve had to get creative with how we stack things. The Delhi heat in the summer is no joke, especially when we are working with the metal. We have fans going, but they mostly just move the hot air around. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and we just like making things that last. It’s not about being the biggest shop in the city. We just want to do a decent job and stay busy. Sometimes the wood shipments are late, or the metal prices go up, but we just keep going. It’s a noisy, dusty life, but it suits us just fine.
