Mahamood Khan Steel Works

We have been here in Madanpur Khadar for a long time now. If you walk past Sunder Public School in Sarita Vihar, you’ll likely hear us before you see us. Mahamood Khan Steel Works is just a small place where we get our hands dirty every single day. My father started with just a few tools and now we have a bit more, but the work is still the same. We handle a lot of heavy metal, cutting and joining pieces for whatever the neighbors or local builders need. The shop gets quite hot in the summer months, especially when the welding torches are going non-stop. We don't have a fancy office or anyone sitting at a front desk. It is just us in our work clothes, usually covered in some dust or iron filings. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break, but mostly we are busy with the hammers and the grinders. People know us around here because we’ve been at this spot for years. We don't do much advertising. Most folks just see the sign near the school and walk in with a drawing or a broken part. It’s hard work and your back hurts by the end of the day, but it’s what we know. Sarita Vihar has changed a lot, but this corner stays pretty much the same. We just keep our heads down and finish the jobs as they come in without making any big fuss about it.
