We’ve been operating out of South Extension Part I at C 57 for a good while now. South Ex is a busy place, and our little office here reflects that. It’s usually a bit messy with papers, floor plans, and empty tea cups scattered around. We spend most of our time on the phone or running out to meet people at different venues across the city. Being an event company isn’t as glamorous as it looks in the movies. It’s mostly about logistics and making sure the guy with the generators shows up on time. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us arguing over a schedule or trying to find a lost invoice. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but we’ve stayed right here. Some days are incredibly slow and we just sit around talking about old events, but during the wedding season, we barely have time to breathe. It’s a lot of physical work, too. We’re often the ones moving chairs or checking the light fixtures ourselves because you can't always rely on everyone else. We don’t have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the work gets done and everyone gets paid at the end of the month. It's a simple way to run a business, but it works for us and keep the lights on.
