Lubra Metal Works

If you head down to the D.S.I.D.C. Complex in Dakshinpuri, you’ll see Shed No. 21. That’s where Lubra Metal Works is. We are right near the F Block Post Office, which is handy when we need to mail things out. The shed is big and drafty, especially when the wind picks up in the winter. We’ve got all sorts of metal scraps tucked into the corners. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. My hands are usually stained with oil or metal dust by ten in the morning. That’s just part of the job. We don’t have a fancy website or a receptionist to greet you. Usually, you just walk in and yell for someone over the noise of the grinders. Dakshinpuri is a working-class place and we fit right in. We’ve been at this for a while, just cutting and shaping metal for whoever needs it. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the cricket score. Other days, we’re running around trying to finish five things at once. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just metal work. The floors are concrete and the lights flicker a bit, but it’s home for us during the day. We don’t think much about being "the best." We just try to do the work so it doesn't come back broken.
